Olivia Spalter Personal Statement

  • Comment on something interesting you've found in newspapers, industry-related magazines, by following key industry figures on social media or when meeting business professionals face-to-face.
  • Write something revealing about what you’ve learned from work experience or a part-time job where you've made some relevant observations or demonstrated skills or commitment.
  • Include examples from enterprise schemes at school or college. This can be just as valuable as real workplace experience, as long as you say something interesting about it. Don’t worry if you weren’t successful: it’s ok to discuss what went wrong as well as what went right, provided you learned from it.
  • Give them a balanced, all-round picture of yourself as a potential student: your achievements, evidence of your key strengths and qualities, a project you’ve undertaken or the subjects you’ve found genuinely interesting and how they’ve enhanced your potential as well as your interests outside the academic world

  • WHY SHOULD YOU GIVE ME A PLACE ON THIS COURSE?........ Because
    Work experience
-Frank PR is a consumer public relations firm who are located in the UK as well as Australia and America. They have won numerous awards since they were founded in September 2000 and they are the 29th largest PR consultancy in the UK as well as being the 5th largest PR firm in the UK.  I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to do work experience at Frank PR for a week in October. WHAT I LEARNT FROM IT, WHAT SKILLS I DEVELOPED AND WHY ITS RELEVANT TO THE COURSE.
-I had a Saturday job in a hairdresser.
Describe a situation you've dealt with. What was it you did to handle the situation? What did you learn? Which skills have you developed as a result?
Think about the skills you've acquired that will be useful to your degree work. If you've developed strong communication skills as a result of interacting with customers, then mention how you would put them to good use when presenting your ideas in seminars or arguing persuasively in essays.
I am studying double business BTEC at school along with creative media BTEC, both these BTECS overlap in various areas. WHAT I LEARNT FROM IT, WHAT SKILLS I DEVELOPED AND WHY ITS RELEVANT TO THE COURSE
